Cary Cares

Cary Cares is run entirely by volunteers who give anything from an hour or two a month to several hours each week.

 

Even an hour a month would help us to:

• Deliver an emergency food box

• Collect a donation from a supermarket

• Call someone who is looking for advice or wants a friendly chat

• Help staff the food bank and larder

 

What do our volunteers get out of it?

Friendship, fun, a sense of achievement and the satisfaction that what they do makes a difference to local residents and organisations. In addition, volunteering may assist you if you are looking for paid employment; employers like to see commitment and work of any kind is good for your CV.  You may learn new skills and get relevant training that will be useful in work, such as a Level 2 Hygiene Certificate if you want to work in the catering industry.
